Are you still looking for 3182's? Your post is old, but I thought I would ask. I have 3, all jsut rebuilt by GPA and never used or mounted, stored carefully in a warm dry cabinet. Two are the newer cone design - accordian surrounds, and the third has the foam surround. I am going to post them soon on the for sale area.

Speakerlab's version of Klipschorns;Each speaker is equipped as follows:
Altec Lansing 806A driver with Altec 811B sectoral horn
JBL 2405 slot tweeter mounted on the outside edge of the horn
15-inch bass driver with Speakerlab sticker on the magnet
Speakerlab crossover with tweeter and midrange controls
The cabinets are identical to Klipschorns, down to the internal bracing and side boards.
The horn tops are not fixed; they are separate and removable.
I have connected an amp to these speakers and I must admit, they sound better than the klipschorns I had 30 years ago.
The Altec's with the JBL tweeter sound incredible.
I regret having to sell these gems, but I live in a condo and just don't have the room for maximum enjoyment.
Sorry for the dust and dirt; they have been in storage for some time.

I have a 604 for sale and a couple crossovers. (The broken 604D is gone)
In detail:
604: Frame is in great condition, but a few cracks in the original woofer cone near the circumference. Impedances read out nicely; see pictures. I have some kind of crossover for it but it's not original, even though it is crossed at 1khz (which is correct). Not sure what to ask for this, so let me know if you want to recommend a price as an impartial 3rd party. Here are pics:

it's an 8-ohm. Pretty sure this is an early 416-8Z . Probably 1960s from a Valencia cabinet perhaps...not exactly sure, but response should be very similar to a 416-8A, B, C, or Z?

Forgive my complete ignorance of vintage Altecs, know my total deference to your knowledge of them, and accept my sincere gratitude for your help.
I'm looking to find a good home for a pair of Altec 844A monitors, each with N-1500A crossovers. The problem is, I know next to nothing about them or what they're worth. The crossovers are apparently not the stock N-800s; I don't know how significantly that that affects their value.
I'm not looking to squeeze top dollar out of somebody for these--I actually want to be reasonable and find them a good home. On the other hand, I don't want someone to prey on my ignorance and buy them from me, only to turn around and effortlessly resell for a tidy profit.
I've attached a couple of pictures so you get an idea of what I have. I can see why you're all Altec enthusiasts--these monitors sound absolutely incredible! But alas, I don't want them to languish in my basement unplayed--they beg to be used.
I really appreciate your help.

They are in Near Mint to Excellent condition..All original drivers,crossovers,diaphragms,etc... The grill cloth is in great shape,no holes or pulls at all.. There is just one support missing from one of the bottom grills.It's really the only thing I can find wrong IMHO.

Price lowered $200. 1 pair of Altec 1004 horns. Similar to 1005s but almost twice as large. The throats are included. They are in pretty good shape. A previous owner had them sprayed in bed liner which looks pretty good and seems to damp the horns fairly effectively. They are located in Ridgefield Ct. They are big and heavy enough that they are probably pretty expensive to ship. I can provide pictures on request. $450/offers. They are currently on eBay as well, but a bit cheaper here.

Hi, I have an estate pair of Altec 602As with N3000 crossovers and Altec attenuators, one Tweeter cuts in and out, $375. Buyer pays packing/shipping from UPS store in Manchester MO the estate is using for ALL out of state shipping. Payment by USPS Money Order only to the estate. These need to go now. Nice clean pair of 604-8G with new GPA diaphragms, and new GPA cones. Well matched DCR according to my Fluke model 37 of 5.8 ohms HF and 6.1 ohms LF on both drivers. Rear gaskets missing, these can probably be sourced from GPA(Great Plains Audio).
Felt dust guards between the cone and horn were installed a bit tight, not an issue unless you plan on driving them to their limits.
Local pick up preferred, but i will ship within the lower 48.

I need one Altec 21216 Horn Adapter to complete project. Other components are sitting around until I can find the Horn Adapter. I need to remove my home theater screen to put new speakers behind the screen but I can't until I get one more adapter.
My system behind the screen: Altec 816VI cabinets, 515B speakers, 805B horns, 21216 horn adapters (-1), 802D HF drivers,N 500E crossovers, 15067 transformers. I will be using 1 each of these for Left, Center, Right.
GPA has no more of these.
